Emma’s passion for teaching English began at 18, when she volunteered with Bridges (Reading). There she discovered that her love of teaching and languages could be used to reach others with the gospel. She went on to train in TEFL before completing a Master’s in TESOL.
Since then, Emma has taught in a wide range of contexts, both church-based and secular. Most recently, she spent seven years at the University of Birmingham as an Academic English Tutor and Presessional Programme Coordinator. She now works as Lead Trainer for 2:19, helping to develop resources that support and equip teachers in church-based settings.
Emma lives in south Birmingham with her husband and two young children, and spends much of her time juggling family life alongside the realities of being married to a shift worker. When she gets the chance to switch off, she enjoys exploring new places and walking in nature.
