Rupert will talk on “The Edge of the Inside” as a position that Jesus took and a place to which he calls us as his followers. He describes discipleship as being “pain bearers for a broken world” and will encourage us to realise the resources available to us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Rupert and Janet Abbott

    Rupert and Janet Abbott currently live in Newent, Gloucestershire. For 11 years they lived in the largely Asian populated inner-city of Birmingham where Rupert worked as a city missionary. Then for 10 years they lived in the mountainous North of Pakistan where Rupert was involved in Agricultural Development Projects, and latterly they lived for 9 years in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where Rupert was the Senior Pastor of an International church while Janet fostered relinquished Thai children until they were adopted internationally. Rupert now works part-time as Pastor of Glebe Chapel in Newent and part-time for PARTNERSHIP, and Janet will soon be fostering again as they have recently been approved by the local authority as foster carers. They have 5 children aged 33 – 10 (the youngest was adopted from Thailand).
