Teaching beginners is both hugely rewarding and hugely demanding. Specific techniques can make lessons more effective and more enjoyable for teachers and learners. This is a practical session, sharing ideas and strategies and encouraging each other.
Rachel has a wealth of experience teaching literate and non-literate learners and loves to share her expertise and learn from other teachers. If you teach beginners, come and share your ideas!
Rachel first taught English in Kenya and soon realised that teaching English was her vocation. Since then she has taught in a wide range of contexts – from toddlers to 80+, from Derby to Chiang Mai, from Nepal to China.
She currently works as a CELTA trainer in Reading and thoroughly enjoys watching new teachers emerge – or experienced teachers of other subjects develop their understanding of language teaching.
